US BLANKS STRINGER SELECTION

 
 The US Blanks  in-house mill capabilities allow them to offer nearly any conceivable cut or configuration. Some limits are set by the length or width of wood available. Their cedar comes 6” wide and will not fit all rockers, and our plywood has a length limit of 8’1”. Multi stringers, T-bands, off-set stringers, flares, and wedge cuts are all part of their custom stringer capability. Stringer configuration is only limited by one’s creativity.

Parabolic rail stringer configurations are also available in a variety of different blank sizes. Our standard parabolic templates can be used in any of our shortboard sizes to suit your finished board dimensions and requirements.

US Blanks currently offers 5 solid woods, various plywoods, and 2 alternative materials for stringer selection.

Solid Woods

Balsa, Basswood, Cedar, Dark Wood (Cedar Alternative), Redwood

Balsa

Balsa: Very lightweight. Consistent color and grain. Available in any length and thickness. Readily available.

Basswood

Basswood: Consistent color and grain. Available in any length and thickness. Readily available.

Dark Wood (Cedar Alternative)

Dark Wood (Cedar Alternative): Introduced to fill the void when Cedar is unavailable.

Variation in color from Cedar-tone to very dark. Available in any length and thickness. Readily available.

Cedar

Cedar: Slight variation in color and grain. Available in any length and thickness. Call for availability.

Redwood

Redwood: Slight variation in color and grain. Available in any length and thickness.

Plywoods

The process of gluing panels of wood together into ply adds strength to the final product. Additionally, the ability to use multiple wood colors within the ply offers aesthetic variety.

3 PLY PANELS

4 mm Unidirectional Plywood available in Poplar Ply, High Performance Ply, Team Ply.

5 PLY PANELS

6 mm Unidirectional Poplar Plywood. Appelcore also offers a 5 ply panel that is 1/4″ thick and available up to 12′ in length. Colour combinations vary. Please call us for current colour offerings.

7 PLY PANELS

Appelcore offers a 3/8″ thick 7 ply panel, available up to 12′ in length. Color combinations vary. Please call us for current colour offerings.
